Hi spooky friends, my name’s Jasmine! I’m a mixed media sculpture artist, and I handcraft art dolls called Wisps. Welcome to my haunted woods!

For as long as I can remember when I needed a place to go, I went to the forest. My childhood wasn’t a typical one, so it became the one corner of the world where I didn’t have to hide myself, and where I didn’t feel so alone. Not long after I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, I stumbled across a little overgrown cemetery while wandering the woods. I had always felt at home among the trees, but as I grew older I found something in cemeteries that was just as special. Looking back, this spot felt different, as if it had been waiting just for me. With each visit I realized that the trees and forgotten stones held stories much like my own. They spoke to me like one of my favourite Edgar Allan Poe poems, the kind of haunting solace that can’t be explained to the outside world. For a while, I didn’t know how to share the stories I saw, but I hoped they would one day find the souls they were meant for. Then on a gut feeling, I bought some clay and started teaching myself how to sculpt.

What began as just a feeling became a lifelong love of weaving the tales that have kept me, and maybe even you, company. I hope that if a Wisp creeps into your story, they become a place where you feel understood, a reminder that you’re never truly alone.
